Do you remember some of the brightest personalities of our time—Steve Jobs, Michael Jackson? Or perhaps someone closer to you who’s no longer here?

For a while, their presence felt unforgettable.
Cities mourned. Headlines flared. Stadiums filled.
And then—life moved on.

Nature always finds a way forward—with or without us.

🌱 Impermanence of Life

We often believe that what we experience in life is permanent. But the truth is—even our own existence is temporary. If nothing lasts forever—our friends, the people who walk in and out of our lives, the jobs we once loved—then permanence itself is an illusion.

Whoever comes your way, welcome them. Whoever wants to leave, let them go.

🏡 Lessons from Family Roots

My family is from Charla, a small village in central India, close to the jungles where the story of Mowgli might have been imagined.

My father came from a family of farmers, but unlike many around him, he believed deeply in the power of education. That belief carried him far—across India on his academic journey, eventually earning a PhD in Soil Chemistry.

With no extended family to lean on, it was always just my parents and me. I learned early that before looking outside for help, I had to first look within.

That perspective shaped me into being practical, resilient, and tuned to reality.

🌌 Legacy and Perspective

We grow up thinking legacy means being remembered forever. But even the brightest stars and most admired leaders eventually fade. Cities mourn. Headlines flare. Stadiums fill.

And then—life moves on.
People return to their routines. New trends take over.

💭 And it’s not just people. Even the job you’re carefully guarding isn’t permanent. The rise of AI and other disruptions are constant reminders that nothing is untouchable.

What once felt unforgettable becomes just another memory.

That’s not pessimism.
That’s perspective.

💭 Asking the Right Questions

This awareness made me focus less on chasing perfection and more on avoiding obvious mistakes—overspending, chasing shiny objects, or ignoring the small, consistent choices that actually work.

So instead of only asking, “How do I succeed?” I began asking:

  • How do I fail?
  • How do I go broke?
  • How do I lose freedom?

If you can clearly write down the ways you could fail, you can avoid making those mistakes. Life becomes less about chasing success and more about not falling into the traps that guarantee failure.

🤔 A Quick, Uncomfortable Thought

Sounds crazy, right? With so many voices out there, how can one more perspective matter?

I’m not sure this post will land exactly the way I want. The world changes on its own—people come and go, seasons turn, nature finds its way forward with or without us. Maybe this piece will do nothing. Maybe it will change one thought in one life—the thought of someone who’s never seen the other side of the world. Maybe it will make one person a little more welcoming.

I really don’t know.

But the fact remains: you’ll be forgotten—and so will I. It’s the law of nature. If that feels brutal, let it also be clarifying. If we are temporary, then what we choose to do with our minutes matters all the more.

🧭 The Real Measure

In the end, what matters isn’t being remembered forever—it’s making an impact while you’re here. It’s about leaving fingerprints on the moment.

Because silence fades faster than courage.

So ask yourself:
👉 If you’re going to be forgotten anyway, why not make the moment unforgettable first?
